Law Week 2022

Law Week is a program of free events for members of the public in Tasmania between 16 – 22 May 2022. It is designed to provide members of the public with opportunities to find out vital information about their legal rights, to engage with the legal profession and the law more generally.
Various organisations from within the legal profession, community and not-for-profit organisations will deliver a range of free events throughout Tasmania which make learning about the law easy.

All the events are free and include Sentencing workshops run by a Judge, online quizzes, podcasts, webinars and events in Hobart library.

Clarence Authors Series

Date: May 22, 2022

 

The Clarence Authors Series brings some of lutruwita/ Tasmania’s greatest authors to a hall near you! Come see your new favourite author live in conversation with  self-confessed bookworm Helen Shield and get the chance to ask them your burning questions.
You can borrow the books ahead of time from your local library, and copies of the books will be available for purchase and signing at the event!
Participants receive a free hot drink and snack from local coffee van the Tow-Bar.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
1. Pick your session and register your spot via https://www.clarenceartsandevents.net/clarence-authors-series/
2. Pay the $5.00 registration fee. This will cover entrance to the session and entitle you to a free hot drink and sweet/ savoury snack from Tow Bar Coffee on the day.
3. Visit your local library to borrow your book. Please ensure you return your book as soon as you’re done with it- book numbers are limited! If you don’t get time to read the book we’d still love to see you there- come and join the discussion!
4. Attend your session- make sure to have your questions for the author ready for the QandA session!

Campbell Town Show

Come and join us for the Campbell Town Show, a vibrant celebration of all things rural. The southern hemisphere’s oldest continually running agricultural show and listed by the National Trust as part of our Island State’s Living History. It is also Tasmania’s only sheep show.

There is something for everyone including sideshow alley, sheep and wool judging, fashion parades, sheepdog trials, equestrian events, wood chopping, craft, food exhibitions and stalls, children’s entertainment, ute competitinos an animal nursery and shearing competitions.
