Dave chats with CEO of LGAT Dr Katrena Stephenson as the LGAT Annual Conference, gets underway at Wrest Point in Hobart.
The theme is Finding Your Voice is the theme of this year’ in recognition of the unique voices across the sector as individuals and as communities for influencing change.
The first day is the Annual General Meeting followed by the General Meeting at which the new Local Government Minister, Mark Shelton MP,will speak at 12Noon-12.30pm in his first major address since being sworn-in to Cabinet yesterday.
The conference on Thursday July 4 and Friday July 5, features a number of impressive presenters – including New Zealand’s longest serving Mayor Tim Shadbolt (who served prison sentences for
political activism in the 60s and 70s). Newly elected LGAT President, Mayor Christina Holmdahl, will be at the helm for her first conference in the chair.
The announcement of the 2019 Local Government Awards for Excellence will be 11.10am Friday, 5 July.
